Fast moving, enjoyable Jesse Stone story. Michael Brandman captures the mindset and writing style of the late Robert B. Parker very well. The only points that occurred to me as unfortunate (and they are very minor) was that the theme of redeeming a kid with awful parents has been used before, and Jesse now has a cat; he doesn't strike me as a cat sort of person. I wish they were still doing the Jesse Stone movies -- CBS chickened out -- but since they're not, this is an agreeable substitute.
