Rabbi Albert Lewis has asked Mitch Albom to write his eulogy when he passes away. Mitch grew up with the Rabbi, but had moved away and was not as religious as when he was younger. Doesn't feel good about writing a eulogy without getting to know the rabbi as a man, rather than as just a religious icon.

We get to know the rabbi as well as Mitch. We learn of his faith, his wanting to help everyone he comes into contact with, his life in general. His willingness to open his mind to other religions and faiths.

The book makes you ponder, whether a little or a lot, your faith and reasoning behind your following closely or not. Doesn't make you want to go out and purchase a religious tome, just makes you ponder and maybe sing a little, too.
