As with any anthology, I liked some of the stories more than others, but overall this was a quite good collection of stories of female vampires. The fourteen selections were all exclusive to this volume, so I hadn't read them before (with the exception of the (long) Niven selection, which was later published in one of his Ringworld novels - not my favorite). There's also a high-tier collection of authors:
Contents:
Empty / M. John Harrison
The Bloodbeast / Diana L. Paxson
Madeleine / Barbara Hambly
Mama / Steve and Melanie Tem
Survival Skills / Deborah Wheeler
Tumbling Down the Nighttime / Dean Wesley Smith
La Dame / Tanith Lee
Sometimes Salvation / Pat Cadigan
In the Blood / Michael Kurland
Victims / Kristine Kathryn Rusch
Maríd and the Trail of Blood / George Alec Effinger
Food Chain / Nina Kiriki Hoffman
Song of the Night People / Larry Niven
Sister Death / Jane Yolen
