Like others, I enjoy this series a lot, but the combination of a taciturn hero and a shy heroine made this a slow read. There's a great happy ending, but it takes a long time for the leads to connect. I was also bothered by little things - a precocious ten year old character who still needs a car seat (!) and can't figure out how to work the buckles even though she's smart enough to understand the distinction between sadness and nostalgia?!?
