I found his style to be as enjoyable as I expected. Earlier I noted that him mentioning that in the Senate he kept humor to a minimum in order not to offend his colleagues and so put in for his autobiography. It turned up from my wish list in a few weeks, through the kindness of Ms. Mabry in Alameda, Cal. I read the part I was interested in, i.e. how his campaign handled the GOP dropping bombs on his campaign when he sought Senator Wellstone's old seat--Mr. Franken carried a lot of baggage that could be twisted to make him look bad (Public Opprobrium chapter).
When I was in high school Cal. elected Geo. Murphy as Senator and there were critics that said he had no right to stand for election given his profession. I myself voted for RR as governor--I think he did well (but I never voted for him as President). I liked Sen. Hayakawa because he was so honest and not eyeing the next office to run for.
There are suddenly 61 wishes for this book i.e. since his resignation, and I am including it for free in my parcel of plays I am mailing to the only PBS comrade who wanted a play as it is on his wish list.
