Claire Malloy, bookstore owner, part-time sleuth, and full time single mother, is't quite sure she's ready to handler her big 4-0 birthday or her teenage daughter Caron. The Kappa Theta Eta sorority, which happens to be housed right next door to the Malloys, has just recruited Caron to be a "My Beautiful Self, Inc." consultant. But beauty makeovers may not be all the sorority girls are specializing in. To add to the horror of Claire's graying hair, one of the KTE sisters is killed in the dark alley next to the sorority. The cops rule accidential hit and run, but Claire isn't so sure and decides to investigate the crime herself. As she digs deeper into the case, Claire discovers that the sisters' acitivities are not as sweet and innocent as the sorority's pink colors might suggest. For Claire Malloy, it's going to be a heck of a way to spend the lazy, hazy days of the craziest Farberville summer she's known yet - that is, if she makes it through alive.
