Fantasy with a steampunk feel. The author balances a revolution storyline with genderbending characterizations. The heroine is a trinex, ie combination female, male, and mechanical/robotics. Written from the viewpoint of two characters, one is first person and the other is third person...different (not in a bad way) and certainly easy to tell apart. Given the gender blending, I'm not even going to try and separate m/m vs. m/f, but both are present (also D/s).
Not for the faint of heart, there's lots of steam along with interesting world building. Hope there's a sequel!
