Sabrina shows up for her birthday dinner with her college roommate and best friend Jess. And there are four other people there - all five from her "dinner list" - Audrey Hepburn, her dead father, her favorite college professor and her ex-fiance. The chapters alternate between telling the story of her relationship with them over her lifetime and the night of the dinner. The discussions at dinner are deep - life, love, loss. At the halfway point I was trying to figure out where it was going when the discussion at dinner is that the ex-fiance, the love of her life, is dead also. And then the story began to come together. The ending was poignant and both sad and hopeful. The dinner was so Sabrina could find closure and move on with her life. The first half dragged a little, but once the pieces all started to fit together it was very good.
