I am totally enamored with this series! Fforde combines classic (and not-so-classic)literary works with science fiction and lots of wit. Clever and light, this series is a pleasure to read. While the ending is predictable (of *course* the heroine is going to triumph! and Love will prevail!), the means of getting there is a fun ride.
In this third book, pregnant Tuesday is laying low in the Book World while sorting out how to get her husband back/not dead. She agrees to be a fiction detective under the tutelage of Miss Haversham. The plot thickens as the top fiction detectives are being bumped off one by one. Add to this the revenge-seeking sister of the evil-doer in the first book, who can control Tuesday's memories. Oh, and a runaway Minotaur.
Makes me wish I'd paid more attention when reading Great Expectations in high school. Guess I'll have to read it again, tho I'll probably giggle now whenever Miss Haversham enters the scene!
