The subtitle reads "A Comedy of Martial Arts," but there is a copy editing note, printed to looked like it was drawn in later, which indicates that the 'T' and the 'I' can be/should be transposed.
Further, the dedication reads:
"This sleazy piece of fiction is gingerly dedicated to: ...and all other friends and foes and lovers and strangers (and my children and their children and our step- and step-stepchildren), dear to my life and to my larcenous heart, who are now, or ever have been, involved in the magical and tragic aspects of the garbled and glorious martial--excuse me, 'marital'--transduction of affect."
