This is a cute, quick little read. It only took me a few days to read it, and that was to take my mind off of my impending particle physics final (that's over now too...thankfully). There are a lot of interesting, sometimes just plain bizarre characters in this short novel. Thrown into the mix is some brief history of Barcelona and the Catalan region, and some "authentic" recipes to boot. I'm a bit distressed at the negative view all the Catalan males seem to hold about American women, and I wonder if that is a view held by most in the region or if it is limited to this book. The book ended rather abruptly, but it's hard to end a mystery very well. Once the crime is solved, as it inevitably is, what else is there to say really? At any rate, it's a quick read and worth reading once, but probably not more than that.
