Charming and honest (and hilarious in parts) story of a woman, transplant from a city to a rural area, who realizes that there is something missing from her life: a child. Might be an especially good read for parents of children adopted from overseas. Perhaps because much of the book does deal with trying to conceive, trying to find a child, my wife liked the book better than I did, but Laskas speaks to the heart of any human who has loved another.
