Nice followup to the first book. Story starts just as the first one ends, so be sure to read these in order.
Alex and his friends are trying to escape from Furnace. They have made a way to get to the river that runs underneath the prison. I don't want to give too much away, but between the blacksuits, the wheezers, and the rats (all seemingly mutated humans), the going is rough.
Since the title of the book lets you know this is a second appempt to escape, it's not too much of a spoiler to let you know that they are captured and sentanced to Solitary for 30 days.
Lots of action, plenty of gore, and "specimens" that have been surgically altered in very creative ways.
