Another screwball comeday from Crusie, in which a recent divorcee, looking down the barrel of 40, decides she needs a perky puppy to zing up her life. And ends up with Fred, the basset/beagle/sadsack whose antics also lead her right acoss the path of a younger man with some decisions of his own to make.
