This was extremely helpful in planning meals that my husband could eat after his doctor put him on a low carb diet for health reasons. He has lost 80 pounds, lowered his blood sugars and improved all his blood test results using information from this book. The book includes ideas of how to plan to cheat without completely blowing all weight loss and feeling horrible. He has managed to keep his weight off for over 3 years at this point. A very readable book that starts with the assumption that your "Mileage May Vary" so what works for one person may need to be adjusted for someone else. Dana also suggests ways to vary your diet. If you are going to try any low-carb diet, I would recommend this book for additional (and very useful) information.
