I am not a big fan of anthologies but this one was really good if you are looking for a light-hearted read with really goofy characters.
"Hope Smolders" by Jaci Burton
Burton is on and off for me and this one was on. I thought the storyline was interesting. Divorced mother trying to make ends meet and dealing with her husband's abandonment. She meets up with ex's best friend and is a bit gun shy. The only thing that bothered me was that Burton kept introducing characters that didn't really add to the story but wanted you to know about them because she plans to write books about them in the series. I think I definitely identified more with Jane's hesitation to throw herself into things than Will's decisions to move the relationship along. Good read. 3 1/2 stars.
"Perfect Stranger" by Carly Phillips
This is part of her Serendipity series and it mostly circles around Alexa needing to figure what she really wants in life and to stand up to her father. Sweet little story. 4 stars
"The Legend of Jane" by Jessica Clare
I have never read Clare before but I have to say she makes really interesting characters. I thought I would find Jane/Luanne obnoxious but I ended up really liking her craziness and straightforward way of talking. Very funny story. The ending is predictable but well worth it just for the interaction between Luanne and Officer Hotness. Story of opposites attract. 4 1/2 star
"Ice Princess" by Erin McCarthy
Chelsea is another goofy character with funny, straight forward lines. She is a tone down version of Luanne. Lots of humor in the story and getting into silly situations. The ending needs a little work but overall good read. 4 stars
