OUTSTANDING!
I have read and reread this book and it will remain a keeper on my bookshelf.
It starts with a bang and doesn't let up.
The plot is truer to life than the rosey tinted "Indian Romance" books on the market, and contains not only violence and rape, but the horrors of the white/indian conflicts which took place in the late 1800's.
It is easy to fall in love with the Cheyenne warrior chief, "A Panther Stalks" and admire his white captive/slave, "Little Wildcat".
Absolutely one of the best I have read, intelligently written and impossible to put down until the last page.
I was so happy to find the sequel, SUMMER STORM, which is just as captivating. So eager to revisit beloved characters, and the years that continue to the last of the 1800's.
Forwarning: not for the faint of heart.
