"We have said before--and it bears saying again--that very few people actually make their living from their art. That goes for any art form, from dance to writing to filmmaking."
Although that is from the end of the book, apparently the patrons of this branch library took it to heart. The copy I am looking at on the sale shelf for two bits seems almost unread. It cost $35.00.
Too bad. The book seems excellent, and covers how to publish your comic on the web, a book and its cover, measuring twice for accuracy, etc. There are also 'homework' assignments.
A serious book: "Chapter 5 Comics in Books, Comics on Screens. Visual composition as it works at the page-spread and whole-work level, as well as an introduction to the issues involved in choosing and preparing your work for different publication platforms."
Index and bibliography.
There are two wishes outstanding for this book but I will put it back on the shelf for someone else to have as I have had too many PBS comrades ignore the offer of a book until it expires in 48 hours.
This copy has shown up again on the sale shelf for two bits (someone apparently bought it and took it home for a few months) but there are still only two wishes outstanding and I do not want to wind up carrying it away (heavy--printed on coated stock) and find that no one really wants it.
