Hoo-boy. Thought this would be an enjoyable fast read but when I can guess the ending (bad guy who's really good guy) within the first 10pgs it's not a good sign. I threw in the towel when the author (who seemingly has never met a person of color in her entire life) began attempting what she imagines to be dialogue in a black home in the "scary ghetto" N-word this and N-word that-characatures rather than characters and so on and on.
Disheartening that this book was even published as it reads like a community college night course project. I'm removing it from my booklist here at PBS and sending it to Goodwill instead...
