A very detailed account of a family immigrating from Norway to the Dakota territory during the late 1800's. Very well written, Lauraine Snelling has a way of transporting teh reader to the lonesome prairie, faced with the harsh reality of surviving out in the middle of nowhere, struggling to build a new home and community for thier small but growing family, and nourish thier faith while nourishing the land they work so hard to protect. A wonderful little read!!
