I adore Mr. Balson's previous books and this one is not an exception. It is an intoxicating story and I jumped right in and didn't look back.
Attorney Catherine Lockhart and her husband, Private Investigator Liam Taggart are asked by a friend to help his Aunt who is being evicted from her home in the Tuscan hills of Italy. Aunt Gabi has lived there for decades and a powerful company has been trying to take her land.
Aunt Gabi presented Catherine a journal introducing a young girl named Ada, a violin prodigy in Berlin during WW-2. Gabi insists all the answers are there. The connection between Ada and Gabi are heartbreaking and magnificent at the same time.
I recommend not only this book but all the work by Ronald Balson.
