Rob Bell needs to go home or back to school and do his homework. This book has so many inaccuracies and misinterpretations. He obviously does not understand much of what he is writing about.
The book overall is not only scripturally inaccurate but historically inaccurate. He is twisting scripture to suit his own agenda. Yes, God is Love. Yes Love wins but Sin can't win either. You can't have it both ways. This is universalistic doctrine, a new twist on the new age idea that you can sin all you want, believe what you want, do what you want and in the end there are no consequences for your actions or beliefs.
He leaves out several main doctrinal points. First we CHOOSE to believe in God, Jesus Holy Spirit, then we must repent and be born again, baptized and we must have faith and try to live the life God has called us to live. God calls everyone but we are not puppets. We must make a choice.
Bell leaves out FREEDOM of CHOICE. God does NOT send people to hell. We choose God or we don't. The choice is ours.
The book is so off - His interpretation of Revelations is down right juvenile.
This book is primarily a work fiction :) My suggestion is that if you really want to learn about Love, read the Bible... Jesus gave all. He won, Love One and the rest is up to us.
My copy won't be reposted but will be recycled... At the dump. Have a great day.
