This is just an ok book. Not the greatest. The biggest thing that I think pulls in young female readers is Bella's lack of self confidence and "romance" part of the book. Your better off watching the movie, and this is something I never say. Only read if you love the movie and want to know more about the characters.
WARNING* While the first book isn't as bad as the rest in my opinion this book series shouldn't be listed as youth because it romanticizes domestic violence. Take away the fact that Edward is a vampire and it doesn't look too good anymore. The movie gives Edward a better personality. If your having your daughter read the books please explain that it is NOT ok for men to be controlling.
