Wild child Madison Wescott detests convention and has not desire to marry. Thumbing her nose at London society, she deliberately turns her comimg-out ball into a spectacle by unveiling a scandalous self-portrait. To aviod further damage to her reputation, she is wisked away to the family's lush Jamaican plantation by her wealthy aunt and the dark, mysterious Jefford Harris, for whom Madison soon feels a powerful attraction she is desprate to deny.
