I really enjoyed this one. Not so much issues of land use or "city dwellers" this time. Of course I always love the dialect, the setting, and the characters. In the last couple books, the character of Booger Tom has been fleshed out some and I have really liked that. What Bowen did with Father Van Den Heuvel was interesting, I am not sure I really believed in that, but okay. And the shaman Benetsee didn't just hand DuPre the answer. Although I like the shaman it's felt like a cheat. However, all in all I'm giving this one a high grade. There are a couple more in the series I haven't read - I think I'm reading them in order but maybe not - anyway I have a couple more on the TBR shelf.
