Dr. Koester wisely divides these twenty-four sessions into (well-thought-out) sections: The historical and intellectual background of the Apocalypse; a close reading of John's text (focusing on the meaning of its images); and the wide-ranging impact of the book on Christian and Western history. This man knows his subject and is not out to sway anyone to believe anything. He gives his learned evaluation for listeners to weigh and examine. I appreciate his non-judgmental explanations.

I've been reading the Bible and have always considered Revelation the most challenging book of the sixty-six (books in the Bible). Thus, I was looking for some guidance, and Dr. Koester delivered.

As the intro explains, this is a roller-coaster of symbolism and ideas. I was interested in the narrator's explanation of how the interpretation of the Revelation chapter changed over generations because of what was going on in the Church at the time. Overall score = 4.5 stars.
