Excellent book by Lynn Austin. It is the story of four generations of brave women, who took chances and did what was hard and not popular. Hannah hid runaway slaves before the Civil War, BeBe worked tirelessly against the "demon rum", and Lucy took up the suffrage movement. Harriet is trying to decide what her cause should by, but unfortunately, she is in jail! The lives of the women who came before her are told through her memories as she waits in jail. I enjoyed this historical Christian story.
