This was your typical "bodice ripper" style but it was still a good read. The hero had me fooled almost to the end. (He was one of the good guys.) The heroine had your standard "fairy tale" problems--wicked step-mother, the fiendish fop who wanted to force her into marriage, etc. There were some places I actually laughed out loud at some of the come-backs between the hero and heroine and some of the outlandish scenes in the plot but it still made for a good way to pass a rainy weekend.
