Fortunately it doesn't happen often but when I run across one like this I find myself wondering.....why in the world an author would create an unlikeable heroine. Diana improved some but, for me, it was a case of first impressions being lasting impressions. This was one of those books that I found myself looking to see how much more of it I had to get through until the end. It was readable but certainly not one I was impressed with. This was my first Thompson book and I'm not sure there'll be a second.
