I found this volume to be a light comedy with hints of future drama. The story is about a teenage vampire who is a constant embarrassment to her family. She has no night vision, totally lacks supernatural abilities and almost seems ashamed of her need to bite humans. Worst of all, instead of drinking blood she expels it! Our heroine Karin is torn between her desire to be a normal vampire and her desire to be a normal teenage girl. Recently she's been having more difficulty managing her condition than usual, and it seems to coincide with the arrival of a new student.
Tokyopop rated this series for Older Teens. There was mild violence, a few panty shots, references to a girl's monthlies and one non-sexual incidence of a nude side-boob.
