I went into this book completely blind, thinking that it would be some run of the mill true crime-inspired novel that would merely be interesting. I had no idea that I was in for a one way express ticket to Crazy Town, and that the lives of all of the characters in this book were seriously and irreparably $%ed up.

This book is as much a character study as it is a page turning psychological thriller. In summary, it is dark, depressing, and frustrating. To be perfectly honest, the ending is terribly disappointing. I finished the book with this overwhelming sense of melancholy. So much was futile. So much was a waste.

Was it a good book worth reading? Yes and no. It was not uplifting, it does not provide meaningful closure to any of the characters, and the author has no qualms regarding foul language or descriptions of sexual situations in ways that seem intended more for their shock value than their contributions to the plot. It kept me reading and it kept me guessing, but in the end its just not a book that I am excited about, or one that I want to tell people about. In truth, it was an average book. It just didn't suit my tastes, and Im still disappointed with the ending.
