It is a good thing it's listed under 'erotica', because that is :exactly: what it is. Though longer and better written than most, it is still a porn story.
I am undecided whether this takes place in an alternate universe, or in some point in the future after an Armageddon like event; the author is rather vague with the details that would put this in perspective. Also, her lack of tech-talk is rather distracting... :really: I would have fitted ALL my cyborgs with wireless controls; and not be so amazed at the fact that the hero (Steel) has it. And that mess of a control chip?? *sigh*! Sub-routines, baby! Root-menu controls! Integrated platforms! The list is endless. And you mean to tell me an Insurance Company is allowing an agent into space without at least some basic instruction on how to handle a space vessel????? One that will cost them (possibly) millions??? Yeah, right. Just chalk that one out to suspension of disbelief.
Ok. To the Meat of Things.
Did I like it? Some.
Will I keep it? No.
Will I read something else from Ms. Dohner? Yes. I do believe she has good writing skills that will *hopefully* improve with time. Please continue writing, Ms. Dohner. There's hope for you yet.
