Bernadette Murphy uses knitting as a metaphor for understanding the continuity of life. She talks about her experiences as well as others she has interviewed about their views of knitting, the knitting process, and what they like and enjoy about it. Every chapter is started off with a different stitch and discussion about knitting and life. Some of the stitches I had never heard of before and think would be interesting to try. She ends the book with an easy sweater pattern to try.
