Hired: The Italian's Convenient Mistress (Married by Christmas) (Harlequin Presents Extra, No 29)

This is only the second Marinelli HP I've read but it was as good as the first one and ended up on my keeper shelf. What I liked about this one is that the hero is not your average billionaire: he really came up the hard way, being a con artist youngster to real estate developer. But he's also unsure of himself in the situation he finds himself in at the beginning of the book, and connecting with the heroine is the best thing to happen to him. She's likeable as well and is more than a match for him. I liked both main characters a lot and fell into the story from the first page. I've been a Presents fan since the every first book, these days some of the books don't have the quality of the older HPs but every once in a while an author comes along and really shines and Marinelli is one of them.
