Good YA fantasy with a young heroine, who knows she has a special destiny but can't help doubting herself. The obesity/self-hate thing was interesting, and it looks like her experience in the desert may have taught her confidence as well as the enforced weight loss. However I would have expected a bit more information about the godstone by the end of the book. I expect more to come from the mention that she has studied a lot about war, too.
