I first read this book as a teenager, 20 years ago. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Amelia Peabody series and this book sets the stage for great stories to come. The author (real name Barbara Mertz) holds a Ph.D. in Egyptology, so you can count on a lot of historical accuracy (as much as a fictional work will allow), as well as an all around entertaining story. Hoping another in the series will be out soon...
