Meh. Bound by Temptation, which has all appearances of being part of a series, was a disappointment in almost every regard. The first lines of the book were entertaining and surprising, almost shocking for a historical romance. Unfortunately the book didn't live up to the promise of those first few sentences. It took too long for the story to take root, much of the book the h&h seemed more in lust than falling in love since they barely spoke. The heroine's sordid past loomed over the book like a boat anchor and while one can appreciate her hurt each time Jonathan holds it against her, you also can't really understand why she decided to be so notorious. Then when there seems to be some momentum, Lavinia Kent falls back on a typical historical romance trope by having Clare help Jonathan find the perfect wife (who is, naturally, the opposite of herself).
Jonathan was redeemed somewhat in the end but neither character ever was particularly endearing. Finally with all the references to naughty bedroom antics, the love scenes were relatively lukewarm.
