Great book! Lynn Austin is a wonderful writer. The first book in this series (Candle in the Darkness) was so good, that I was delighted to find this book and book #3 (A Light to My Path) here on PB Swap. Together, the three give you a great understanding of the Civil War, from three different perspectives - those living in the south, those living in the north, and then those who were southern slaves. I highly recommend them!
