I had this book on my wishlist for 6 months before deciding to buy it myself while out Christmas shopping. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting it to be but I think it is a great book. It didn't just answer some questions I had but made me take a deeper look at myself. It made me realize I had guilt issues I didn't even know I had, trust issues I thought had been long resolved and some body image issues that took me by surprise.
fter first reading it I was disappointed that more of my sexual questions hadn't been answered and also quite emotional over all the stuff it got me thinking about that I took me by surprise. I am giving this book 5 stars. It made me think and is still making me think. My husband wanted to throw it in the trash when he saw how hard on myself I was after reading it but I convinced him it has also taught me so much. I could never quite put God and Sex together and this book does a great job of showing how the two aren't just intertwined but really one in the same. It really opened up to me what Sex is and was intended to be. One example, I could never understand how when my husband and I went through the death of someone we loved he wanted sex and after reading this book I realize one of the reasons God gave us sex is for just such a purpose to comfort. He also gave us sex as a stress release. I have always thought that God's main purpose for sex was to reproduce and that mans purpose was for pleasure but God really did have many reasons besides the obvious one for creating man and women they way he did and pleasure was at the top of his list.
As crazy as it sounds this book has brought me closer to God, my husband and myself. I am currently going through the book a second time as a study guide (one chapter at a time as opposed to when I first sat down and read it in two days) and continue to grow as a result.
