I am so thankful that I am not Amish. The women have no rights. They are supposed to obey the husband and bishop and no birth control and no rights.Amanda is a widow with a mother in law and 3 daughters ages 14, 4 and 4. She marries Wyman a widower and inherits 5 kids from 3-17 years old and tries to blend the families and Wyman's bishop tears her apart the first Sunday at church and comes into her house uninvited and breaks her potters wheel and pottery. His wife and daughter are equally rotten. A disaster happens and they have to re-assess their living situation.
