While the atrocities reported in this book are eye-opening, the book is written at a college freshman level with spelling, grammatical, & punctual errors and basic language. Additionally, in my opinion the author includes too much detail about himself and not enough detail on the focus of the book: slavery in Sudan. Aside from the poor writing, learning about the the present-day occurrences is shocking.
