This was not my favorite Madonna biography. One reason was because this book read more like a college thesis, than a biography, and as a result was very dry. Now I ask you, how can one write a dry book about Madonna, a woman who has had a very interesting life. Further, the author's writing style was not only too academic for my taste, but not at all impartial. Victor makes it clear by her emotionally loaded words that she is not a Madonna fan. As a huge fan, every time the author took a dig at Madonna, I felt angry. It just seems to me that if you are writing a biography about someone you should present it in a very neutral way, so that the reader can make up their own minds. Having read a lot of Madonna biographies, I wasn't swayed by this material. However, a person reading their first book about Madonna could come away from this with a terrible opinion about her, and that is just not fair.
