Liza Barton shot her mother at age ten, trying to protect her from Liza's stepfather. At 32, fate puts her back into the same house. On the day they move into the house "Beware" is painted on the lawn. When the real estate agent is murdered, Liza becomes a suspect. As she fights to prove her innocence, she is not aware that she and her son are now the targets of a killer.
