My absolute favorite book as a kid and still today!
It's the story of a young woman who must help her family, find out who she is and take on the enormous burden of someone who can speak to dragons. It takes the awkwardness of adolescence and being different and shows how those things that make us strange to others can also make us strong, rising above others to take our rightful power. (not in a condescending way, I mean to believe in ourselves and not hide our talents or personality)
A very lovely story, full of trials and the wonder of dragons. The next 2 books in the series are just as tasty as the first! Read these, you won't regret it.
