I found this a fascinating and informative account of events taking place in Pakistan and Afganistan in the late seventies and eighties during the fighting between various tribal factions and nearby countries. "It is a powerful narrative of one woman's search for kinship and sisterhood, beauty and grace in a violent world." Highly recommended.
