Oh wow, I was disappointed with this one. Loved Duncan but Beatrice was hard to warm to. Although she was old enough to be his aunt as she puts it, their age difference didn't feel like an issue. Rather, it was Beatrice's bad marriage that turned her off from marrying again. Her fear of marriage overshadowed her love for Duncan. Frankly, she didn't deserve him. I wished Duncan had found a better partner. Also, what a bummer that the last two friends in the union of the rakes got squashed in with Duncan's story. I was really hoping for a novel of their own. Only a so-so 3 stars, folks.
