One of the most enjoyable & interesting reads I've had in some time. Set in France in WWI. Historical fiction. Anne Morgan (daughter of millionaire JP Morgan) established an organization (CARD) to assist the French citizens caught in the war zone. Jessie "Kit" Carson works in the NY Public Library and is recruited to assist in the efforts and establish a library for those so desperately in need of distraction. Follows several of the volunteers as well as the villagers. Based on real life people. Informational and such a good read!!!
