Now I realize why authors sometimes change thier names on books. I've read one and seen other horror stories written by Hautala and had been unimpressed. I think if I had known off the bat that this was one of his, I may not have read it. But I didn't know it was his and I did read it and I'm so glad I did.
This book is not anything like his normal horror story. I'm not even sure if it can be called a horror story. But there was a ghost sort of, and an evil entity so I gusse it can be called one. But it's also has much truer elements of everday horror, like an ex who wants to kidnappe the child they had together, and ex cons bent on revenge. It almost seems like too much to put into a book, but Hautala aka Matthews blends them into one great story.
