This book was recommended to me by my pen-pal. I found it sad ans it reflects a picture of many small towns USA...dying towns with boarded up stores and broken down houses. A newcomer to Buffalo Valley, ND is shocked to see how run down the town is but decides to stay and accepts the position of a teacher. This is a heart-warming story of hope, love and a new beginning...
