This is a lovely little book of Thich Nhat Hahn's thoughts on mindfulness and peace. These thoughts complement the practice of "touching the earth", i.e. engaging in walking meditation in communion with nature.
I have been to one retreat with TNH which was successful and restorative for me. But, I couldn't engage in meditative walking. The pace was too slow for Type A like me; however, I have developed a very pleasant and relaxing habit of hiking in silence since the retreat.
The wonderful thing about Thich Nhat Hahn is the he is open to the teachings of other faiths (Christianity, see "Living Buddha; Living Christ"), thus many of his observations and teachings can beneficial to almost anyone regardless of faith. His main message is one of calm and peace, individually and communally.
